Die Another Day
Today was a tiresome adventure. My friends Jonathan and Holly are at the school now and since today was Saturday, we all decided to take a Sabbath walk. First we just strolled around the school grounds, which are turning out to be much larger than I thought, and then we headed off campus in a pretty looking direction. Before we got to far, though I got real windy and started to sprinkle, so we headed back. It turned out to be a very long walk though. OH. Friday we had gone to the Ipercoop to buy things, it’s like a Publix, and really ended up with nothing that we went for….But we did buy bread, cheese and tomatoes, so I’m pretty happy. But they told us it would be a 15 minute walk? Nope. It took us about half an hour. And it was trying on our calf muscles. Then, on the way back, we stopped for gelato. I got pistachio. It was delicious. All got a scoop and made the walk back almost more enjoyable than the walk in. More uphill, but more enjoyable. But back to today. We stayed outside for the rain because it actually felt pretty good and it was only a light sprinkle. Then we went down the hill and ate some more fresh figs and later discovered another awesome tree further down. It was an almond tree!!! I climbed it and shook it and then we gathered fresh almonds and ate them. And saved more for later. We felt so cool. Fresh figs. Fresh almonds. Yay. Then we went to supper and it was the best, most delicious spaghetti ever. Jeff kept telling us how fantastic it was, but my first bite was far more than fantastic. PLUS one of the entrees was just, like, this gigantic hunk of extraordinarily delicious cheese. I officially love meals here. For the rest of the day, we pretty much just chilled. We thought about going back into town this eventing for gelato, but we decided that our bodies weren’t up to it. But surprise, surprise! After supper they announced we would be going into town. So at 20:30 the entire student body so far gathered in front of our lion to go into town. We got gelato. Ironic. It wasn’t as good as the place we went by ourselves yesterday, and it was TWICE as far, but it was still fun to be in town together at night. So that was my adventures for today…and yesterday. Now Katie and I are going to have our midnight snack, and then hit the sack because we are exhausted. Got to be up at 8 am tomorrow for breakfast. Hoorah. Got to love mornings.
